The real drama of the post?  The almost identical dresses the two wore were actually both DESIGNED by Donatella.  Oops.  That has to be some kind of fashion faux pas on the blogger’s part.  I mean, how can you compare a 16 year old girl to a 57 year old fashion icon – especially when the icon in question designed the ensemble in question?

The Versace number in question was a studded black leather frock riveted with hundreds of gold and silver studs in a variety of shapes and in an abstract design.  The hem hit just above the knee.  Jessica’s number was virtually identical, with a slightly different design pattern to the rivets – it also only fell to her mid-thigh.

Ultimately, and unfortunately for Ms. Versace, the votes have been cast and counted.  According to a whopping 76% of voters, 16 year old Jessica Sanchez pulled of Donatella’s look far better than Donatella herself.  Of course, that was bound to be the result when you compare a teenager to a 57 year old.

You may be scratching your head at that last one.  I mean, from what Jessica Sanchez displayed during her Idol run, a potty-mouthed rapper would probably be the last person you’d expect her to be singing with, let alone WANTING to be singing with.
The fact of the matter is that Jessica has expressed quite a bit of dissatisfaction at the songs she sung while she was competing on the show.  She has repeatedly indicated that they don’t express her personal style at all and, on top of that, they never really gave her the opportunity to showcase the full range of her abilities like she truly wanted to.

In fact, in no other instance was this more the case than her finale song, which she knew right away would prevent her from winning the title.

All of this being said, Jessica Sanchez has recently revealed that she LOVES Eminem. Both because of his lyrics and because he FEELS them – and his listeners know it.  And she believes that their talents would work well together – both good reasons to arrange for a duet.
