There has been widespread speculation that Jessica Sanchez – the second place contestant on last season’s American Idol – has been tapped for a starring role in an upcoming big-screen adaptation of the popular play “Miss Saigon.”  The beautiful and talented 16 year old singing sensation has downplayed these rumors, insisting that she has too much on her plate with her touring and recording responsibilities to focus on acting, but the internet remains abuzz with speculation.

Because there is another Filipino singing and acting talent who has been rumored to be associated with the movie version of the popular “Madame Butterfly” adaptation – Charice.  Indeed, the popular singer and actress has been linked with the role of the beautiful Vietnamese whore, Kim.

You know that you have officially become a celebrity when you start showing up on random “Who Wore it Best” sites and shows.  This means that season 11 American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez should have something to be happy about.  Because she has reached this pinnacle of stardom.  Indeed, beautiful 16 year old singing sensation was recently compared to Donatella Versace in a blog on AOL,  based upon the dress she wore at her July 4^th National Anthem performance in OKC.

Ultimately, and unfortunately for Ms. Versace, the votes have been cast and counted.  According to a whopping 76% of voters, 16 year old Jessica Sanchez pulled of Donatella’s look far better than Donatella herself.  Of course, that was bound to be the result when you compare a teenager to a 57 year old.

Well, we all know how busy newly minted Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez is – and has been for a while.  The 16-year-old is currently touring with the other 9 top 10 Idol finalists.  She is working on a new album.  She is planning a trip to the Philippines.  She is setting up Skype Parties with her die-hard fans.  And now, apparently, she is fantasizing about a duet with HER idol, Eminem.

You may be scratching your head at that last one.  I mean, from what Jessica Sanchez displayed during her Idol run, a potty-mouthed rapper would probably be the last person you’d expect her to be singing with, let alone WANTING to be singing with.

Despite the fact that American Idol season 11 silver medal winner Jessica Sanchez is half Filipino (on her mom’s side), and despite the fact that her mom was actually born in the Philippines, AND despite the fact that she has a huge following in the country, she has never actually been to the country before.   Good thing for her that her current American Idol success if finally going to afford her the opportunity to visit her mother’s homeland first-hand.

It’s official: the 2012 American Idols Live!
