Jessica Sanchez and the New Idol Audition Options

All American Idol fans have got to be wondering about Jessica Sanchez’s opinion on the newly announced audition process expansion for the upcoming 12th season of the show. Apparently, aspiring singers who audition for Idol season 12 will have at least 3 new ways to audition for America’s most popular talent completion. Expanding on the tradition of huge-scale big city auditions, the show is also going to be adding the “American Idol Small Town Audition Bus Tour,” online auditions and the exciting “Nominate an Idol” program.

These new ways for idol hopefuls to audition for the show should ensure that EVERYONE with talent has a reasonable way to be part of the audition process and ultimately a chance to be on the show. One has to wonder what American Idol alumni, like season 11’s Jessica Sanchez, have to think about this newly expanded audition process. I mean, is it going to open the door to new talent that couldn’t audition for financial or geographical reasons before or is it going to open the door for every wannabe in America and clog up the works?

Jessica Sanchez is doing so great right now, she may not eve care how next season’s Idol hopefuls manage to get themselves on the show. Jess is currently busy with season 11’s summer tour as well as recording her debut album – things that every season 12 hopeful is going to be looking forward to when the start the audition process.

And if Jessica Sanchez isn’t really considering next year’s Idol audition process, you should be whether you are an aspiring singer or now. This is because Idol is now going to be giving friends and family of singing phenoms the opportunity to nominate potential Idols for the show – whether they ever would have mustered up the courage to audition or not.

Jessica Sanchez’s Fans Plan B-Day Surprise

You may or may not know that 16 year old American Idol phenomenon Jessica Sanchez is rapidly approaching her 17th birthday – it is coming up on August 4th 2012.  When the big day rolls around, Jessica is going to be touring the nation with the rest of the top 10 American Idol season 11 alumni – as well as working diligently on her upcoming debut album.  Fortunately the incredibly talented starlet has a huge internet fan base, and they appear to be working to ensure that her birthday is a happy one.

The big, “Happy Birthday, Jessica” plan appears to be geared toward making her the biggest name on the internet.  For 50 days.  Officially called the “50 Days of Jessica Trend,” the massive undertaking is already going on – and according to its organizers – should continue up until her birthday.

The way Jessica Sanchez’s fans are going to make their dream a reality is by mass Twitter posting in Jessica’s name.  They are going to do this by Tweeting repeatedly at the same time every day en mass.  And they are being carefully orchestrated to ensure that none of them violates Twitter’s TOS and gets kicked off for spamming.

Apparently the hashtag will be announced every day, and Jessica fans are uniting and collaborating to decide on relevant daily trending topics.

So far their plan seems to be working – Jessica Sanchez is a big deal on Twitter and around the web.  And they are even planning on designing a B-Day card to post on Tumblr on August 4th to make the big day special.

Jessica Sanchez’s Single #1 in Indonesia

While Jessica Sanchez is a certified mega-star here in the US, many of her fans may be surprised that she has taken the international music world by storm as well.  The 16 year old songstress and American Idol runner-up is currently on tour with the rest of season 11’s top 10 finalists as well as working to get her debut album recorded and dropped.  And while she works her tail off here, her single “Change Nothing” is burning up the charts in the Philippines (her mother’s native country) and, as of July 11 2012, has actually hit the #1 spot on the top 40 FM chart in Indonesia.

Additionally, there for a while it was also chilling on Singapore’s Hot 30 as well and being blasted with some regularity on radio stations in Malaysia.

The international success of Jessica Sanchez’s first single has taken some of her critics and even her fans by surprise, because “Change Nothing” was almost universally panned after she sang it at the American Idol finale as being too much of a pop song and not really appropriate for her personal style of vocal range.

Some of Jessica Sanchez’s current international success probably has to do with the love she’s shown her fans in the Philippines as well as with the typical hype that always seems to go along with the American Idol post-season.  Whatever the reason, Jessica Sanchez is reaping the rewards, and her it is almost a certainty that her upcoming Idols Live! performance in the Philippines will add to her international allure.

Jessica Sanchez Nominated for Reality TV Award

It appears that American Idol season 11 2nd place winner Jessica Sanchez is being recognized by the wider Reality TV community.  She many not have taken the Idol top spot, but she has definitely captivated the nation, and by all accounts she continues to impress fans and critics alike with her talent and work ethic.

Jessica has been nominated to be the ‘Reality TV Personality of the Year’ for 2012 by the folks at the National Reality Television Awards USA.  This will be the fledgling award programs freshman year, and by all accounts it the National Reality TV Awards will have every opportunity to become one of the biggest television award shows in the world, because it is going to be focusing exclusively on reality TV’s many and varied sub-genres.

According to the press release, the National Reality TV Awards was created due to the overwhelming desire by reality TV fans to see the producers, star power and participants involved in their favorite reality shows recognized like everyone else in the television and movie industries.  And it just so happens that Jessica Sanchez was such a darling on American Idol that they have chosen her as one of their first crop of nominees.

Jessica Sanchez Walmart Exclusive EP

Jessica Sanchez fans have one more thing to be excited about – the availability of a Walmart exclusive EP featuring 5 of her most popular performances from American Idol season 11. The disc is only $5 if you order it on Walmart.com – the price is almost $7 if you buy it in-store. Fans could pre-order the EP for a while before its release, but now that it has been officially released it is in stock and ready to ship. Or ready to take home if you buy it in store. The track listing is as follows:

1. Change Nothing

2. I Will Always Love You

3. Sweet Dreams

4. Stuttering

5. I Knew You Were Waiting For Me – Featuring Joshua Ledet

Jessica Sanchez’s fans have been burning up the message boards talking about how great the EP is – and why it is better than the rest of the Idol EP’s that have recently been released by Walmart as exclusives. In addition, a lot of her fans north of the border have complained about the exclusivity of the release, because they can’t get them there.

Jessica Sanchez has been hugely popular since she auditioned for American Idol last season, and she retained that popularity throughout the season, coming in second to Phillip Phillips. According to many reports, though, despite coming in 2nd at the end of last season’s Idol competition, she has been blowing Phillip out of the water at with her recent Idols Live! performances. In many cases, she has been touted at being the “highlight” of the show while some of her competitors fell short.

Jessica Sanchez Supported Steven Tyler Leaving Idol

Jessica Sanchez’s fans and critics alike must be wondering what she thinks about the abrupt departure of Idol judge and Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler.  Only weeks after the 11th season of American Idol finished up, the outspoken supporter of season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez announced that he wasn’t going to be coming back to judge for a third season, saying that:

“I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back.” He added, “I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit.”

This probably comes as a bit of a blow to last season’s second place finisher, Jessica Sanchez, as Steven was one of her most adamant supporters throughout the season – particularly toward the end when he famously declared her the season 11 winner after she performed “My All” by Mariah Carey – a week before the finale.

And Steven Tyler isn’t the only Idol judge who is taking a bow from the long-running reality show.  J-Lo has also announced that she’s calling it quits – which leaves only Randy Jackson (the show’s only remaining ‘original’ judge) to return for the 12th season.

Fortunately for Jessica Sanchez, she has already begun to make quite a name for herself post-Idol.  She is currently touring with the other top 10 finalists on the Idols Live! tour, and from all accounts she is stealing the show in city after city.  In addition, she is working on her much-anticipated debut album and rumored to have some serious acting gigs lined up as well.

Jessica Sanchez to Host Skype Party

It looks like American Idol season 11 second place winner Jessica Sanchez is reaching out to her fan base in the Philippines.  She is set to hit the country of her ancestry on September 21st as part of the current edition of the American Idols Live! tour that is running its course across the nation right now.  Jessica has set up a so-called Skype Party that she has invited her fans to attend, per her Twitter feed.

Jessica Tweeted the following:

“Mabuhay Philippines! I can’t wait to see you all at our Skype Party on July 29, SM Megamall Events Center, 10 am onwards! Love you all!,”

Fans can only imagine the excitement generated by the announcement/invitation.

Jessica Sanchez has been a very busy girl for months now, and her schedule doesn’t show any sign of getting any lighter with all of her current and (supposed) future commitments.  The young starlet is currently touring the nation with the rest of the season 11 American Idol top 10 and recording her debut album.  In addition to that, she is also rumored to be involved with the hit Fox show Glee’s upcoming 4th season and even to have secured a starring role in the big-screen version of the play Miss Saigon.

Of course, a lot of Jessica Sanchez’s current business is mere speculation, as the songstress has remained mum regarding her plans beyond the Idols Live! tour that is currently in progress, aside from admitting to working on an album expected to drop in October or November of this year.

Jessica Sanchez Debunks the Rumors – Sort Of

Recently it has been very aggressively rumored that American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez is taking the first steps in a new acting career.  The entire blogosphere has been absolutely inundated with reports that she is going to be guest starring on the Fox hit Glee and that she may even already be filming for her debut on the series – she is also strongly rumored to have lined up a silver-screen role – starring in the Hollywood adaptation of Miss Saigon.

Despite the intensity of the current rumor mill, Jessica said in a recent interview that she is NOT currently worried about or focusing on her acting career in any way.  Indeed, as of July 24th, the 16-year old singing sensation claims that she is way too busy with her current commitment of performing in the Idols Live! 2012 summer tour to do much else.

Okay, so Jessica Sanchez didn’t precisely deny the fact that she would be working on these (or other) acting projects in the near future.  She just indicated that she is not CURRENTLY working on them.

In fact, in what many see as a contradictory statement, Jessica said that there are DEFINITELY things going on on the side that she can’t currently comment on.

So what’s the deal, Jessica?  Are you solely focused on your 40+ tour dates, or is there something else that your fans should be in the know about?

Maybe she was just referring to her newly publicized relationship with former Idol competitor DeAndre Brackensick – that is DEFINITELY something going on on the side…

Jessica Sanchez On Girl Power

According to many reports, Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez wanted nothing so much as for a girl to take the top American Idol spot this year.  Not because she had (or has) anything against the ultimate winner of the biggest reality competition in America, but because she wanted to reverse the recent Idol trend of dudes taking the top spot.  That being said, she didn’t have big hopes that she was going to take home the prize after she heard the song the producers planned for her to sing.

According to Jessica Sanchez, from the first moment she heard the song “Change Nothing” she knew that it wasn’t a good fit for her voice or her musical style.  And while she admits that she knew that the song “Change Nothing” pretty much guaranteed the top spot in the competition to Phillip Phillips, she also acknowledges that Phillips is a GREAT talent and that he impressed America with his voice and style.

Jessica Sanchez also wants to assure America that Idol is definitely not fixed.  Ultimately, no matter how hard a contestant tries or what songs they sing, the final decision regarding who goes home and who wins the competition rests with the way America votes.  In her opinion, America just seems to prefer the male singers as of late – and it was partly wanting to support the ladies that made Jessica push herself so hard over the course of the 2012 Idol season.

All in all, Jessica Sanchez is happy with the results of the recent American Idol season and recognizes the huge springboard to fame the competition was for her.

Jessica Sanchez in Chicago

On July 7th, the 2012 Idols Live! summer tour made a stop in Chicago giving local fans the chance to see their favorite (and perhaps least favorite) American Idol season 11 top 10 stars perform live.  And each former Idol contestant got the chance to showcase their singing ability in front of a crowd of screaming fans – a platform all of the finalists should be pretty used to by now.  And because nobody was getting voted off the tour, their nerves should have held up pretty well, too.

Jessica Sanchez and crew were introduced by a music video depicting each of the top 10 crashing into the city in the form of shooting stars.  It was pretty dramatic and a little bit silly, but fans seemed to dig it.

Jessica Sanchez and the rest of the Idols each performed two songs from – the majority of which were selections they had already performed and performed well during their time on American Idol season 11.  Not every performance was a solo – there were also many duets and (dreaded) group performances to mix things up and keep the audience entertained.

Most of the singers got props from critics and fans alike.  The two big exceptions were Heejun Ham (who sounded flat and uninspired) and Phillip Phillips, who sounded alright but wasn’t much of a stage presence, not showing up until the end of the show.  There was some speculation that this may have been due to his recent health problems, but fans really did want to see more of their champ.

One of the highest points of the entire show was when season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez belted out Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.”
